[Reduction mammaplasty using the postero-inferior glandular pedicle without de-epithelialization].
Abstract
The author describes the technique which he has used for the last two years and in 140 cases of breast reduction. This technique uses an essentially posterior glandular pedicle, the blood supply of gland is essentially derived from the thoracic wall and there is no de-epithelialisation for vascular purposes. This simple technique provides patients with the certainty of normal lactation and almost certain restoration of nipple sensitivity. Moreover, as the skin is not placed under tension, the scars appear to be of better quality than when they are placed under tension as with many other techniques.
