Capsular contracture in breast augmentation: a return to the good old days?
Abstract
Surgeons who perform augmentation mammaplasty operations involving the introduction of a prosthesis behind the breast, their patients and the manufacturers of the prostheses, are all concerned at the apparent increase of clinically significant capsule formation. Any such increase has not been adequately documented. This paper demonstrates a true increase and suggests a reason for it.
