Abstract

[INTRODUCTION] The nasal tip is a complex structure that depends on the interplay between the lower lateral cartilages, soft tissue, and septal support. An ideal tip reflects balanced projection, rotation, and definition while maintaining airway integrity and structural stability. Key aesthetic parameters-including tip angle, columellar-infratip lobule relationship, domal divergence, and lateral crural orientation-provide a framework for evaluating tip shape. A thorough understanding of nasal tip deformities is important for avoidance and correction.

[OBJECTIVES AND HYPOTHESES] To describe commonly used tip suture techniques.

[STUDY DESIGN] Descriptive, non-comparative surgical technique review.

[METHODS] Tip suture literature review, and description of Umang Mehta's preferred techniques.

[CONCLUSION] Modern tip rhinoplasty approaches emphasize cartilage preservation through suture-based techniques, which allow for controlled, reversible modification of tip definition, projection, and rotation while minimizing the sequelae of aggressive resection. The discussed techniques enable surgeons to achieve stable aesthetic and functional outcomes in primary and revision rhinoplasty.
