Abstract
During four decades as an active rhinoplasty surgeon, the author has witnessed not only technical innovations but also changes in the surgical setting and in the interaction between surgeon and patient. Patients' expectations of the surgeon and the surgical outcome have increased, and the physician-patient relationship has become more public and transparent.
