Flower Mastopexy: Video Guide to 1-Stage Tailored Augmentation Mastopexy with Polyhydroxybutyrate Scaffold for Safe and Reliable Outcomes.
Abstract
Augmentation mastopexy is one of the most complex operations in aesthetic surgery, with revision rates as high as 40%. When native breast volume is insufficient, an implant is often needed to achieve long-term upper-pole fullness, which results in additional stress on the compromised soft tissue. Studies have suggested improved long-term outcomes for lower-pole support with a polyhydroxybutyrate scaffold. The authors report on their 6-year experience, with more than 190 cases, of 1-stage subfascial augmentation mastopexy with poly-4-hydroxybutyrate scaffold support for primary and secondary cases of augmentation mastopexy. This article provides a detailed, step-by-step guide to the authors' customized technique.
