Abstract

The majority of early breast cancer patients undergo breast-conserving surgery and radiotherapy. Radiation therapy can cause complications due to early and late alterations in cellular function leading to fibrosis. Some of them subsequently present for reduction mammoplasty. Reduction mammoplasty is performed both in the irradiated and non-irradiated breasts which could lead to increased complications due to prior radiotherapy.Level of Evidence III This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
