Endoscopic augmentation mammoplasty: the umbilical approach.
Abstract
Endoscopy, which has allowed surgeons to look into the body as never before, has recently been used for breast enlargements, a procedure accomplished through an umbilical approach. Plastic surgical nurses are key members of the surgical team involved in this procedure, and need to participate in educating patients about this new technology. This article will examine endoscopic augmentation mammoplasty (the umbilical approach) and the nurse's role in its practice.
