[Treatment of lymphoedema after breast cancer].
Abstract
Breast cancer-related lymphoedema affects up to 20% of patients, leading to arm swelling and reduced quality of life. Conventional treatments include compression therapy, manual lymph drainage, and exercise. Surgical options like lymphovenous anastomosis and vascularized lymph node transplantation offer promising results, with robot-assisted techniques improving precision. Liposuction remains a great option amongst selected patients, while emerging medical treatments hold potential for further advancements. Continued research is essential to optimize therapies and individualize treatments, as argued in this review.
