Idiopathic Isolated Focal Jaw Tremor Responsive to Botulinum Toxin: A Case Report.
Abstract
Jaw tremor is a form of orofacial tremor that can be seen as a symptom of various neurological disorders. Diagnosis and management are hindered when it presents without other neurological symptoms, and there is no consensus regarding the treatment approach. The authors report a case of a 72-year-old female with idiopathic isolated persistent jaw tremor. Diagnostic workup included clinical and electromyographic assessment. A significant therapeutic effect was observed with ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injections.
