Abstract
The author presents his point of view concerning the incidents and complications of augmentation mammoplasty which he has seen and treated over the 35 years of his career. He questions the basis of certain generally accepted ideas, prospective analyses deduces from statistics subject to criticism in terms of "publicity" or the interests of companies manufacturing breast implants or the regrettable incompetence of the authorities supposed to verify the quality of these implants.
